Recover Abandoned Checkouts with a Single Trigger

January 28, 20262 min read

How It Works

Recovering abandoned checkouts just became far more streamlined inside ESC Hub.

A new Abandoned Checkout trigger has been added to Ecommerce Stores workflows, giving you one unified way to detect and act on abandoned checkouts across HighLevel Ecommerce Stores and Shopify.

When a customer adds items to their cart, provides their email, but doesn’t complete checkout within a defined time window, this trigger fires automatically. From there, you can launch follow-ups, recovery sequences, or internal actions without juggling multiple platform-specific triggers.

Instead of separate logic for different ecommerce systems, everything now runs through a single, flexible trigger built for scale.

How to Use

Setting up abandoned checkout recovery is now much cleaner.

  1. Open Workflows inside ESC Hub.

  2. Add a new trigger and select Abandoned Checkout under Ecommerce Stores.

  3. Choose how long a checkout must remain incomplete before it’s considered abandoned.

  4. Apply filters such as cart value, country, products, or order source.

  5. Build your recovery workflow using emails, SMS, tasks, or internal notifications.

Once active, the workflow will automatically enroll contacts who abandon checkout based on your criteria.

Powerful Filters and Targeting

This trigger gives you far more control over who enters a recovery workflow.

Available filters include:

Cart value
Trigger based on minimum or maximum cart value

Country
Target customers from specific regions

Global products
Trigger workflows only when certain products are abandoned

Order source
HighLevel Ecommerce Store or external platforms like Shopify

This allows you to build smarter, more relevant recovery flows instead of one-size-fits-all reminders.

Shopify Support and What’s Changing

If you’re using Shopify, this update simplifies things going forward.

The existing Shopify Abandoned Cart trigger has been renamed to Shopify Abandoned Cart (Deprecated Soon). Existing workflows will continue to run, but new builds should use the new unified Abandoned Checkout trigger.

This new trigger supports both HighLevel Ecommerce Stores and Shopify, offering better flexibility, improved filtering, and long-term scalability.

Why This Matters

Abandoned checkouts are one of the biggest missed revenue opportunities in ecommerce.

By unifying abandoned checkout detection into a single trigger, ESC Hub makes recovery workflows easier to build, easier to manage, and easier to scale across platforms.

You spend less time maintaining duplicate logic and more time optimising messaging, timing, and offers that actually bring customers back to complete their purchase.

Simpler setup. Smarter recovery. Better results.

Cross-Platform Stores

High-Value Cart Recovery
