When multiple team members are following a contact or opportunity, keeping everyone informed without adding extra workflow branches or manual mentions has not always been straightforward. ESC Hub has updated the Internal Notification action to handle that automatically.

What's changed

The Internal Notification workflow action now includes a Notify Followers section. You can turn on Contact followers, Opportunity followers, or both - independently of the existing To User Type recipient. Followers are notified in addition to the primary recipient, and duplicate recipients are automatically deduplicated when the action runs.

Opportunity Owner has also been added as a new recipient option in the User Type picker, making it easier to route notifications to the right person without additional logic.

The update is available for Email, In-App Notification, SMS, and WhatsApp notification types. Existing Internal Notification actions are unchanged.

To use it, open an Internal Notification action in a workflow, choose your To User Type recipient as normal, and toggle on Contact followers, Opportunity followers, or both from the new Notify Followers section.

Why it matters

Teams working on shared contacts and opportunities - lead generators, closers, advisors, covering teammates - often need to be kept in the loop on activity they do not own. This update means the right people get notified automatically, without building separate branches or relying on manual processes to fill the gap.
