native-whatsapp-voice-notes-are-here
How It Works
Outbound WhatsApp voice notes sent from Conversations will now arrive as native WhatsApp voice messages, not downloadable audio attachments.
That means recipients can play them instantly inside WhatsApp, just like a normal voice note.
If the recipient has WhatsApp voice message transcriptions enabled in their own WhatsApp settings, they will also be able to view a transcript of the voice note inside WhatsApp.
No extra setup is required on your side. This change applies automatically to outbound WhatsApp voice notes sent from Conversations.
How to Use
Open Conversations.
Select a WhatsApp conversation.
Record and send a voice note as normal.
It will be delivered as a native WhatsApp voice note.
If a customer asks about transcripts, this is controlled by their WhatsApp app settings:
WhatsApp Settings
Chats
Voice message transcripts
Enable, then choose a transcript language

Why This Matters
Attachments add friction. People have to download them, open them, and decide if it is worth listening.
Native voice notes remove that barrier and feel more natural inside WhatsApp, which leads to:
higher engagement (more listens, faster replies)
better accessibility (customers can read when they cannot listen)
clearer communication in noisy environments
a more personal feel without creating extra steps
This brings your outbound WhatsApp experience in line with how people already use WhatsApp every day.
Use Cases
Faster follow ups
Send quick voice replies that customers can play instantly, without downloading anything.
Support and troubleshooting
Explain a fix in a voice note, and customers can listen or read the transcript if they prefer.
Sales conversations
Voice notes can feel more human and build trust faster than long text messages.
Noisy or quiet environments
Transcripts help customers understand the message when audio is inconvenient.
