Dubsado Pricing: What It Actually Costs
Dubsado looks straightforward on the pricing page. Two plans, clear numbers, a free trial with no time limit.
But the headline price isn’t the whole story - and if you’re a solopreneur or coach trying to work out whether Dubsado is worth it, the detail is exactly where it gets complicated.
This post breaks down what each plan actually includes, what the Starter plan locks out (and why that matters), and what the true cost looks like once add-ons and payment processing are factored in. By the end, you’ll have a clear picture of whether Dubsado fits where you are right now - or whether you’d be paying for a platform that wasn’t built for you.
Note: all pricing below reflects Dubsado’s December 2025 update. Verify current figures at dubsado.com before signing up.
What Dubsado Is - and Who It Was Built For
Dubsado is a client management platform. It handles proposals, contracts, invoicing, and scheduling - the admin layer that sits between you and your clients.
It was designed primarily for creative freelancers: photographers, designers, wedding planners, and similar service-based professionals who handle recurring client projects and want a polished, branded client experience. The platform does that well. Custom-branded portals, professional proposals, contract signing, payment collection - for that specific type of business, it covers a lot of ground.
Where it gets complicated is when a solopreneur or coach with a leaner business model picks it up expecting a straightforward all-in-one setup and runs into the platform’s assumptions - a steep learning curve, feature gates on the lower plan, and tools that still don’t cover everything a growing online business needs.
Dubsado Pricing Plans: Starter vs Premier
Dubsado runs two paid plans. The gap between them is significant.
Starter - Monthly: $20/month
Starter - Annual: $335/year (around $28/month)
Premier - Monthly: $55/month
Premier - Annual: $525/year (around $44/month)
Annual billing saves roughly two months compared to paying monthly. The free trial gives you access to most Premier features with no time limit - but only up to three clients before you need to pick a plan.
On paper, that looks reasonable. The problem is what the Starter plan actually includes.

What the Starter Plan Doesn’t Include
This is the section most Dubsado pricing posts gloss over with a feature table and move on. It deserves more than that.
The Starter plan locks out:
Automated workflows
Scheduling
Time tracking
Public proposals
More than 1 active lead capture form
Zapier integration
QuickBooks and Xero integration
In plain terms: if you want Dubsado to actually automate anything - follow-up emails, onboarding sequences, appointment booking, connecting to your other tools - you cannot do that on the Starter plan.
What you get on Starter is essentially a digital filing cabinet. Forms, contracts, and invoicing. That’s it.
For a solopreneur building a coaching or service business, automation isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the reason you’re paying for a platform in the first place - so you’re not manually following up with every lead, sending every invoice reminder, or booking every call by hand. Without workflows and scheduling, Dubsado on the Starter plan doesn’t solve the problems most people buy it to solve.
If automating your client onboarding is what you’re actually trying to solve, it’s worth understanding what that requires before choosing a platform.
The practical reality: most solopreneurs who sign up for Dubsado end up on Premier. Not because they planned to spend $525 a year, but because the Starter plan doesn’t do enough once they try to actually use it.
The Add-On Costs That Raise Your Bill

Even on Premier, the base price isn’t necessarily what you pay.
Extra users: Three users are included on both plans. Beyond that: 4 to 10 users $25/month | 11 to 20 users $45/month | 21 to 30 users $60/month. For a solo operator this may never apply. But if you bring on a VA or business partner, the bill increases immediately.
Additional brands: If you run more than one business or brand through Dubsado, each additional brand costs $10/month. One account, one brand is the default.
Setup time: This one doesn’t appear on any pricing page, but it’s a real cost. Dubsado has a steep learning curve. Capterra reviewers give it 3.6 out of 5 for ease of use. Getting workflows, templates, and automations set up properly takes hours - sometimes weeks. For a time-poor solopreneur, that’s time not spent on clients or revenue.
Payment Processing Fees: What Dubsado Doesn’t Advertise Upfront
Dubsado doesn’t charge its own transaction fees, but payment processing fees apply on every transaction through the platform. These come from the connected payment processor (Stripe, Square, or PayPal) and are worth factoring into your real monthly cost.
Current rates:
US cards: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
International cards: 4.4% + $0.30
ACH bank transfer: 0.8%, capped at $5
If you’re processing $3,000 a month through Dubsado on US cards, that’s roughly $87 in processing fees on top of your subscription. It adds up - and it’s a cost that’s easy to miss when you’re comparing plan prices on a pricing page.
Is Dubsado Worth It?
It depends on one question: are you the customer it was built for?
If you’re a creative freelancer - a photographer, designer, or wedding professional - who handles recurring project-based client work and wants a highly branded, polished client experience, Dubsado on the Premier plan is a solid choice. Once it is configured, the workflow automation handles complex multi-step onboarding sequences without manual input - and the client portal experience is one of the better ones available.
If you’re a coach, consultant, or solopreneur building an online business that involves email marketing, funnels, lead generation, courses, or community - Dubsado covers only a slice of what you need. You’d still need separate tools for email marketing, landing pages, and anything beyond client management.
You’re not replacing your tech stack with Dubsado. You’re adding another tool to it.
If CRM is what you need, there are platforms built specifically for that - the best CRM for coaches looks quite different from a tool built for creative freelancers.
That’s the real limitation - and it’s worth being clear-eyed about before committing to a $525/year platform that requires weeks to set up.
Who Should Be Looking at Something Else
If you’re running a lean online business and your priority is getting everything in one place - client management, email marketing, funnels, bookings, automations, and support from a team that actually helps you get set up - Dubsado wasn’t built for that.
If your priority is getting everything in one place, it’s worth understanding what all-in-one software for small businesses actually covers before committing to a platform that only solves part of the problem.
ESC Hub was built for exactly that. It replaces the tools Dubsado covers and the ones it doesn’t: CRM, email marketing, funnels, landing pages, booking, automations, and an integrated community - all in one place. At $97 a month, that is one subscription replacing a stack that would cost significantly more across separate tools - and without the Dubsado setup time or the gaps it leaves.
And unlike Dubsado, where the setup is largely on you, ESC Hub includes daily coaching calls and a support team that works through the setup with you.
If the Dubsado setup time or the gap between what it covers and what you actually need is what’s giving you pause, it’s worth taking a look at what a genuinely all-in-one platform looks like before committing.
