What actually changed

Slack now connects through the same secure system that powers the rest of the app integrations in your account. In plain terms, the way your Slack login is stored and handled is tighter and safer, and the connection is built on a foundation that can support new Slack features down the line.

The best part for existing users: your current Slack connection keeps working exactly as it is. You don't need to reconnect, reconfigure, or touch a single workflow. Older connections stay put for now, and in future they'll move across on their own with nothing required from you.

Connecting Slack the new way

Once you've switched the feature on, head to your Integrations to set up a fresh Slack connection. In the screenshot below, you'll see the integrations area where Slack lives.

Click to connect and you'll be taken through Slack's own secure login. This is the new authentication flow doing its job - handing the connection over safely rather than storing things the old way.

Next you'll choose which Slack workspace and channel you want to link up. Pick the one you actually watch day to day, so your notifications land where you'll see them.

Confirm, and you're connected. From here it behaves just like before - drop Slack into your workflows and let it ping you when the things you care about happen.

What you'll notice

Honestly? Very little, and that's the point. Your existing setup carries on. New connections are simply safer and steadier under the hood, with room for more Slack features to arrive later.

If you rely on Slack to keep a finger on the pulse of your business, this is a solid upgrade you mostly won't have to think about. Set it once and let it work.
