Automate Your Badges: Issue Them and Trigger Follow-Ups Inside Workflows
You reward someone for finishing a course or hitting a milestone with a badge. Nice touch. But then what? Usually you had to remember to send the follow-up email or update their record yourself.
Now your badges can do the work for you, right inside your workflows.
What landed
Two new pieces, and they work together.
- Issue Badge action: automatically hand out a badge when your workflow conditions are met. No manual issuing.
- Badge Issued trigger: start a workflow the moment a badge is issued, so you can send a message or email, update a contact, or kick off another automation.
So recognition becomes part of the same journeys you're already building, instead of a separate job you have to stay on top of.
How to set it up
Open your workflow and add a new step. To hand out a badge, choose the Issue Badge action and pick the badge you want to award when someone reaches that point.
To respond after a badge lands, start a fresh workflow with the Badge Issued trigger, then add whatever should happen next - a congratulations email, a tag update, or another automation.
In the screenshot below, you'll see where both of these sit when you're building your workflow.
A simple way to use it
Say someone finishes your flagship course. Issue the badge automatically, then let the Badge Issued trigger send a warm email, invite them to the next step, and mark their record so you know who your most engaged people are.
Give it a go on one badge first. Once you see the follow-up run on its own, you'll want it on all of them.
