Workflows Just Got More Context-Aware
How It Works
ESC Hub has expanded the fields available inside Custom Values and If/Else conditions in workflows.
You now have access to four new fields anywhere you normally pick merge fields or set conditional logic:
• Attribution Medium ID (First or Latest Attribution)
• Contact Engagement Score
• Task ID
• Note Created By
These fields appear directly inside the Workflow Builder, so you can reference them in actions, branches, and conditions just like any other workflow field.
No extra setup.
No separate tools.
They simply show up where you already build workflows.
How to Use It
Inside a workflow:
Add or edit an If/Else step, or open the Custom Value / merge field picker
Navigate to the relevant category (Contact, Attribution, Task, Notes)
Select the new field you want to reference
Use it to branch logic, personalise actions, or pass data into other tools
Examples of what this unlocks:
• Route contacts differently based on Engagement Score
• Identify exactly where a lead came from using Attribution Medium ID
• Trigger actions based on who created a note
• Sync or reference specific tasks using Task ID
These values can be used for decisions, messaging, reporting, or integrations.
Why This Matters
Most workflows fail quietly.
Not because the automation is broken, but because it lacks context.
This update gives your workflows more awareness:
• They can react to behaviour, not just triggers
• They can adapt based on engagement level, not assumptions
• They can reference real actions by real users, not generic steps
Instead of asking “Did this happen?”, workflows can now ask “Who did it?”, “Where did it come from?”, and “How engaged is this contact?”
That’s the difference between basic automation and systems that actually support how your business runs.
Use Cases
Smarter follow-ups
Fast-track contacts with high engagement scores while keeping others on a slower path.
Cleaner internal workflows
Notify different teams based on who created a note or completed a task.
Better attribution tracking
Tag, route, or report on leads based on the exact medium that brought them in.
More reliable integrations
Pass Task IDs into project management or ticketing tools so updates stay in sync.
