Check a Contact Without Leaving Your Pipeline or Calendar
You're working through your pipeline or your calendar, you click a contact's name to check one quick thing, and suddenly you're on a whole different page. Now you have to find your way back to where you were.
That little bit of friction is gone.
What landed
When you click a contact's name from your opportunities or appointments, their details now open in an overlay on the same page. You get their info and conversations right there, without being pulled away from what you were doing.
You stay in context, check what you need, and carry on.
Where to find it
Head into your opportunities. You can open a contact by clicking their name, or by clicking the little conversation icon next to them.

The same works from your appointments page. Click the contact and the overlay opens right where you are.

Choose how you want to see it
You're not stuck with one layout. The overlay gives you a few ways to view a contact, depending on how much you need at once.
Single-column view opens the left panel of the contact details alongside their conversations and the other right-panel features. Nice and compact for a quick look.

Two-column view gives you more room. You get the contact details panel plus an extended conversations view, so you can read through a full thread while keeping the details in sight.

Still want the full page? That's here too
If you prefer the way it worked before, you can open the full contact details page directly. There's a separate icon for exactly that, so you can skip the overlay whenever you want.

And if you open the full page from inside the overlay, you can navigate straight back to the page you were working on. No more retracing your steps to get back to your pipeline or calendar.

Your customizations come along
If you've set up your contact details page a certain way, the overlay respects that. The same customizations show up here, so what you see is consistent whether you're in the overlay or on the full page.

One note on where this is right now: the overlay is available for opportunities and appointments to start, with plans to bring it to more places where contact names show up.
Next time you're checking a contact mid-flow, give it a try. It saves you a surprising amount of back-and-forth.
