Shopify Integration Just Got a Lot Easier to Set Up

May 27, 20261 min read

If you have a Shopify store and have been putting off connecting it to ESC Hub because the setup looked complicated, that barrier is gone. The integration now uses a simple OAuth connection that takes under a minute and requires no technical knowledge.

What's changed

Previously, connecting Shopify required creating a custom app, generating API tokens, and working through developer configuration steps. None of that is needed anymore. You now connect directly through a standard OAuth flow - the same type of authorisation you would use to connect any app to your accounts elsewhere.

Go to Settings - Integrations - Shopify, click Connect, enter your store URL, select your sync preferences, and you are redirected to Shopify to approve the permissions. Once approved, you are redirected straight back and the integration is live.

All existing sync capabilities are fully supported - historic and real-time sync of customers, orders, transactions, products, and collections all work exactly as before.

If you already have Shopify connected via the custom app method, nothing changes for you. Your existing integration continues to work as-is.

Why it matters

Removing the technical setup means anyone with a Shopify store can now connect it to ESC Hub without needing a developer or spending time figuring out API scopes. Faster to set up, more secure by design, and the same full sync you had before.
