Protect Your Business With a Terms and Conditions Consent Step at Checkout
Customers completing a purchase in your store should explicitly agree to your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy before payment is taken. Until now, there was no built-in way to require that consent at the checkout stage.
That's been added.
You can now add a mandatory Terms and Conditions consent checkbox to your Store Checkout. Checkout is blocked until the customer ticks the box - no consent, no payment. It's a simple addition that helps keep your store compliant and protects your business.
What's Included
Easy toggle in Builder - enable or disable Terms and Conditions directly from the Checkout element settings
Customisable text - edit the label and add links to your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy documents
Mandatory consent - the checkbox is unchecked by default and must be ticked before the payment button becomes active
Payment blocking - checkout is blocked with an inline error until consent is given
Positioned at the final step before payment - maximum visibility at the most important moment
How to Set It Up
Open your Store Builder and edit the Checkout Page
Select the Checkout element
In the right panel, scroll to Terms and Conditions
Toggle "Enable Terms and Conditions" on
Customise the text and insert links as needed
Save and publish your changes

Why It Matters
Explicit consent at checkout is a legal requirement in many regions - including the EU, UK, and regulated industries. Having a mandatory consent checkbox in place helps your store meet those compliance requirements, reduces disputes, and gives customers a clear record of what they agreed to before completing their purchase. It's also fully supported across desktop and mobile.
