Expired Client Portal Links Now Send Members Straight to a One-Time Code Login
A member goes to log into your Client Portal, clicks the link you sent them, and it's expired. Until now, that meant a dead end - an error screen, and a message to you asking for a fresh link.
That's sorted now.
What landed
When a member opens an expired Client Portal login link, they're no longer stuck. The system automatically sends them to a one-time code login instead, so they can get back into their account on their own.
No error page. No waiting on you to generate a new link. They just carry on.
How it works for your members
There's nothing for you to set up. This is switched on automatically for Client Portal login links. Here's what your member sees:
- They click a login link that has expired.
- Instead of an error, they're taken straight to a code verification screen.
- A one-time code is emailed to them automatically.
- They enter the code and they're logged in.
For a bit of extra privacy, their email address is masked on that verification screen, so only part of it shows.
What this saves you
Login links expire for good reason - it keeps accounts secure. But an expired link used to land in your inbox as a support request, and that's time out of your day for something the member could handle themselves.
Now they can. Fewer "I can't get in" messages, and your members get back to their courses, content, or portal without a fuss.
Nothing to turn on, nothing to change. Your members are already covered.
