Deleting a Store No Longer Removes Your Entire Website
Deleting a store should remove the store. It shouldn't take down your entire website with it. But that's exactly what could happen before this update - and it was a risk that caught people off guard.
That behaviour has been fixed.
Deleting a store now only removes store-related pages - Products List, Product Details, Cart, Checkout, and Thank You. Your main website pages - Home, About, and any other non-store pages - remain completely untouched.
What's Changed
Scoped Store Deletion Deleting a store from the Stores list now removes only store-specific pages. Your main website pages are not affected.
Consistent Behaviour Across Entry Points Whether you delete a store from the Stores list or from Store Settings, the behaviour is the same - only store pages are removed. No surprises depending on where you trigger the delete.
Website Deletion Remains Separate Deleting a website from the Websites section still deletes the entire website including any associated store pages. The two actions are now clearly separated - Delete Store and Delete Website do different things and are treated as such.
Improved Confirmation Messaging The delete confirmation modal now clearly communicates that only store-related pages will be deleted - reducing confusion and preventing unintended data loss before you proceed.
How to Delete a Store
Navigate to Stores and select the store you want to delete. Click the three-dot menu or go into Store Settings. Click Delete Store. Type DELETE in the confirmation modal and proceed.
Key Things to Note
Only store pages are deleted - website pages remain intact
This applies consistently across all store deletion entry points
To delete the entire website including store pages, use the Delete Website option under Website Settings
This update significantly reduces the risk of accidental full-site deletion

Why It Matters
Accidentally deleting your entire website when you only intended to remove a store is a serious data loss event. This update removes that risk entirely by scoping store deletion to store pages only - so you can manage your stores with confidence, knowing your website content is always safe.
