Your Custom Number Fields Can Now Power Dashboards and Reports

August 24, 2026

If you've been tracking a number that matters to your business - deal size, treatment cost, property value, whatever you record on your contacts or opportunities - you've probably been exporting it to a spreadsheet just to add it up. That ends today.

Your numeric and monetary custom fields can now be used as real metrics, not just filters or groupings.

What you can do now

Any custom field that holds a number or a money value can be pulled straight into your reporting and totalled up for you. You can:

  • Sum them, to see the total across all your records
  • Find the Average, to spot your typical deal or job size
  • Pull the Min or Max, to see your smallest and biggest

These work everywhere your other metrics live - dashboard widgets, custom reports, and the Custom Metric module. And there's no setup. Any new custom field you create shows up in the metric picker on its own, ready to use the moment you make it.

How to use it

Open a dashboard widget, a custom report, or the Custom Metric module, and go to add a metric.

In the Field dropdown, pick any of your numeric or monetary custom fields. In the screenshot below, you'll see it now sits right alongside your standard fields, so something like "Property Value" is there to choose.

Then in the Aggregation dropdown, choose Sum, Min, Max, or Average. That's it. Your widget or report updates live to show that field's total, and it keeps itself current as your records change.

One quick note

This applies to numeric and monetary custom field types on Contacts and Opportunities. Text fields and dropdowns aren't numbers, so they can't be totalled this way.

If you've got a number you've been tallying by hand for months without fanfare, go build a widget around it. No more spreadsheet, no more manual math - the system does it for you now.
