Collect Member Information on Join and Have It Land Straight in Your CRM

June 10, 20261 min read

When someone joins your community and answers your membership questions, that information has always stayed in the community. It can now go straight into your CRM contact record automatically.

What's changed

You can now link Community Membership Questions directly to CRM Custom Fields. When a member submits their answers during the join process, the linked custom fields on their contact record are updated automatically - no manual data entry, no copying information across.

To set it up, go to Community Settings - Membership Questions, click Add Question, select the Custom Fields tab, choose the CRM custom field you want to link to, and save. Once a member submits their answers, you can view them in the Contact Details section under the selected custom field folder.

Why it matters

Membership questions are a natural point to collect useful information - business type, goals, experience level, whatever is relevant to your community. Having that data land directly in your CRM means you can use it in workflows, automations, and segmentation straight away, without any manual step in between.
